Sustainable ground construction – an action plan in a changing climate

As part of the ongoing process of raising awareness in society of how ground construction can be adapted to a changing climate, we have produced an Action Plan. The Action Plan sets out a series of measures to adapt ground construction to a variable and changing climate, and specifies how they can be implemented.

The purpose of the action plan is to provide a basis for SGI’s work in addressing the challenges and preventing the risks that climate change entails to society, within SGI’s governmental mission. These goals are:

  • Landslide risks are managed efficiently and sustainably.
  • Shorelines along coasts, lakes and streams are used and managed sustainably.
  • Society is sustainably planned and built considering a changing climate.
  • The risks associated with contaminated areas are managed considering a changing climate.
